Quality management is a structured and organized system to ensure that the products or services produced meet the established quality standards. This system ensures customer satisfaction as the main goal.
The pursuit of customer satisfaction is one of the business targets of PT Hasgara Cipta Gusana (Hasgara), the owner of the AdBlue® factory. This automotive complementary product primarily reduces air pollution.
“AdBlue® must meet quality standards that define the requirements for chemical composition, physical properties, and performance characteristics,” said Rama Nugraha, one of the founders of Hasgara in Jakarta recently.
According to him, AdBlue® producers and distributors must have an effective quality management system (QMS) to ensure that products and operational activities meet standards.
Hasgara has obtained ISO 9001 certification, where ISO 9001 is a standard that regulates international quality management systems.
An Effective Quality Management
Genta Ginanjar, another founder of Hasgara, said that an effective Quality Management system must include, First, Quality control process. This includes inspection of raw materials, monitoring of production processes, and testing of final products.
Second, Documentation procedures. The quality management system must document all processes and procedures properly. Third, Staff training. Staff must undergo training on the quality management system and its proper implementation.
Fourth, Internal audits. Teams must conduct internal audits periodically to ensure the quality management system runs effectively.
Fifth, Corrective and preventive actions. Teams must take corrective actions to address problems identified in internal audits. Staff must also take preventive actions to avoid future problems.
The quality control process for AdBlue® follows these steps: First, Raw material inspection – Inspect raw materials, such as water and urea, to ensure they meet quality standards.
Second, Monitoring the production process. Staff must monitor the production process to ensure AdBlue® meets specifications.
Third, Final product testing. The final product must be tested to ensure that it meets ISO 22241 quality standards. Internal and external audits must also be conducted periodically to ensure that the QMS is running effectively.
